My First Artist Residency

Well, it’s happened… I’ve been accepted to my first artist residency. From October 3 through November 8, I will be participating in the Sankofa Art Residency. This is a virtual program where I will participate from my home studio for five weeks by attending guest lectures, artist circles, completing workshops and homework, and deep diving into Scandinavian folk art and the cultures it came from. I’m so incredibly excited about this opportunity! The sixth week, all of the participants travel to Atlanta, GA for an in person immersive experience and graduation ceremony. I am hoping my work is catapulted into an even more meaningful and directed manner.
